Specialist services, consulting and engineering company TP Group announced the official opening of its ‘Advanced Manufacturing Centre’ (AMC) on Monday, at the Dukinfield engineering facility in Greater Manchester.

The AIM-traded firm said the centre was officially opened on 9 February by The Worshipful The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Joyce Bowerman at an event attended by more than 30 guests.

It explained that the AMC had the “latest” precision engineering equipment, including high-precision machine tools and metrology, which would better position TP Group to deliver complex engineering solutions in high value sectors.

The centre was the result of investment of more than £1.5m to upgrade the factory environment, install new equipment and recruit a highly-skilled team of operators and technicians.

TP Group said that investment enabled it to work on complex components required by lucrative sectors such as the UK nuclear supply chain, aerospace and defence - all of which were regarded as premium end markets for the group.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our Advanced Manufacturing Centre which further strengthens our ability to deliver complex engineering solutions across a number of sectors,” said TP Group chief executive officer Phil Cartmell.

“The investment we have made in this facility is focused on delivering our growth ambitions by adding value in sectors where we are already active, and gaining access to new markets through world-class capability.”
