Out-of-hospital healthcare service provider Totally announced on Friday that its wholly-owned dermatology and referral management subsidiary, About Health, has been awarded a new contract to provide community dermatology services to Manchester & Trafford Clinical Commissioning Groups.

The AIM-traded firm said the contract would run for a period of three years, with an option to extend for a further two years at its conclusion.

It said the contract, including the extension, was worth a total of around £8.4m.

“I am delighted to announce About Health's largest contract to date and the first of 2020 for the group,” said chief executive officer Wendy Lawrence.

“In November 2019, we announced that About Health had secured two new contracts and four contract extensions in the six-month period to 30 September, so we are extremely pleased to see that this momentum is now being carried into the new year with this latest contract win.

“This important contract win reflects About Health's continued ambition to increase its presence across the UK, and to consolidate its position as a market leader in community based dermatology services.”

Lawrence said the company was “looking forward” to getting underway across Manchester, and to developing a long-term relationship with Manchester & Trafford Clinical Commissioning Groups.

The chief executive also updated the market on Totally Healthcare - the company’s our specialist business targeting the market for the insourcing of healthcare services.

Lawrence said the business had made a “solid start” since its launch in October, working with hospitals and trusts across the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and England.

“To date, it has secured total revenues in excess of £0.75m, treating hundreds of patients across a range of clinical specialties.

“Our team has demonstrated that it has the experience and skills to establish significant relationships and deliver excellent patient care, reflected in patient feedback.

“The board is pleased with the group's progress and we remain positive that Totally Healthcare is well-positioned to benefit from the developing market in which it operates.”

At 1502 GMT, shares in Totally were up 6.85% at 15.28p.
