Out-of-hospital services firm Totally has been awarded an 11-month contract extension with NHS Vale of York CCG via its wholly owned subsidiary Vocare.

Totally's new contract with the CCG is worth a total of £770,000.

Under the terms of the agreement, Vocare will continue to provide its 'emergency department front door' service to the CCG until 31 December 2018.

Wendy Lawrence, Totally's chief executive, said, "With pressure mounting on the NHS and emergency care services it is vital that, on arrival at A&E, patients quickly receive the most appropriate care and advice for their condition. Vocare's EDFD service provides exactly this."

"We operate in a competitive environment and we are extremely proud of the continuing improvements we have made to the high-quality service Vocare delivers. This has been reflected in Vocare's recent contract extensions and demonstrates our ability to respond not only to the requirements of patients but also of the NHS and rapidly evolving healthcare environment," Lawrence added.

As of 0950 BST, Totally shares had lost 1% to 25.44p.
