Media and entertainment company Time Out Group opened Time Out Market Boston to the public on Thursday, at 401 Park Drive in what the company called an “iconic” Art Deco building in the heart of the Fenway neighbourhood of the Massachusetts city.

The AIM-traded firm said the 25,000 square foot venue contained 15 eateries, with food from some of the city's “most outstanding” chefs, a demonstration kitchen, two bars, a shop and space for cultural experiences.

It explained that the first Time Out Market opened in Lisbon in 2014, was now Portugal's most popular attraction, with 3.9 million visitors in 2018.

Following successful openings in Miami and New York in May this year, the company said the site in Boston was the third to open in North America and its fourth Time Out Market worldwide.

It said that while each market was unique in design and content, they were all based on Time Out's editorial curation.

“The group is focused on the continued global roll out of this format,” the board said.

“Time Out Markets will also open this year in Chicago and Montréal, followed by Dubai in 2020, London Waterloo in 2021, and Prague in 2022.

“At the end of 2019 there will be six Time Out Markets in operation, with a total of 185,000 square feet, almost 4,000 seats and food from 120 of the world's best chefs.”
