Kettle safety controls designer Strix Group will launch a new water bottle with an in-built filter as part of a collaboration with AquaShield Health Technology, the global exclusive Philips brand licensee for water purifiers and dispensers.

Strix said on Friday that the Philips branded water bottle and filters would allow the firm to achieve "a large-scale unveiling and promotion" whilst leveraging existing channels without significant investment.

The AIM-listed group hopes to launch the water bottle to consumers across the globe in the first quarter of 2020.

Chief executive Mark Bartlett said: "We are delighted to have secured this international collaboration with the Philips brand and we look forward to continuing to work with the AquaShield team on our new project.

"This partnership demonstrates the quality of the Astrea technology and we continue to explore further opportunities for the Halosource assets we acquired in March 2019."

As of 0910 BST, Strix shares had picked up 1.01% to 169.70p.
