Maritime tracking, management and surveillance technologies provider SRT Marine Systems announced that it had entered a new contract to supply customised AIS Class A, Class B transceiver products to “one of the world's leading” marine electronics companies.

The AIM-traded firm said the customer's existing range of AIS products should be updated as of the end of 2017 with a new range of AIS transceiver products derived from SRT's new generation of core technologies.

It said it was delivering a full turn-key OEM product design and supply service which would see SRT deliver “unique products” for the customer, fully branded and packaged and ready for distribution throughout their extensive global dealer network into the leisure and commercial marine markets.

The new generation of products would include a range of new “core technology innovations” that had been developed by SRT over the last two year,s which would deliver “significantly enhanced” real-world performance for the end user.

They included the integration of SRT's patented RF transmit/receive chain architecture, HF-AIS message processing, antenna splitter/sharing technology, integrated optional SAT-Trak satellite AIS enhancing technology and a “revolutionary” patent pending integrated duplex antenna system.

The result of those innovations would be AIS transceivers which deliver a “noticeably better” level of performance and functionality to the end customer, the SRT board explained.

“This is a major international marine electronic company whose customers value quality, performance, reliability and functionality,” said CEO Simon Tucker.

“Our core technology developments over the past two years coupled with our usual quality product engineering and reliability as a supplier has enabled us to win this important contract.

“This new generation of technology and derivative products will deliver significantly improved performance and functionality to end users and we look forward to continuing to working with this customer in the years to come.”
