Software and services provider Proactis has inked a long-term contract with German firm DIWIDAG Systems.

Proactis, which made a strategic decision to focus on specific market segments back in April, said its new contract win represented a "strategically important milestone".

The AIM-listed group also said the deal with the new client, the first new customer in Germany to sign up under that new strategy, demonstrated the capability of its marketing and sales team to align their efforts to the needs of customers and the suitability of its focussed product portfolio for that particular market segment.

Proactis will continue to focus on improving its new business performance in the US, France and Germany.

Chief execute Tim Sykes said: "We are delighted to have won our first customer in Germany under the new strategy outlined during April 2019.

"Our teams are very capable and are adapting well to the new strategy as we seek to build equivalent new business performance in Germany, France and the US to that which we already achieve in the Netherlands and the UK."

As of 0900 BST, Proactis shares were up 5.73% at 54.45p.
