British group PhotonStar LED has entered into a partnership with an unnamed "major housing association" in the south of England to help deliver the association's Smart Estates vision.

PhotonStar said the housing association, which manages over 80,000 homes in the UK, will deploy a trial of its V2 halcyon cloudBMSTM suite of applications to assess the scalability of a number of the group's solutions.

"These Halcyon V2 products are more mature than the other products the association has tested previously and several other promising technologies will also form part of the trials," PhotonStar said.

The main applications to be assessed will be PhotonStar's energy monitoring, critical assets monitoring, emergency lighting remote testing, temperature monitoring and general environmental monitoring.

Chief executive James McKenzie, said: "Following the release of Halcyon V2 in May 2018, this partnership represents a further step along the path of the group's transformation into a software and services business.

"The opportunity to work with the association as part of their Smart Estates vision is one we are very pleased to be part of."

As of 1000 BST, PhotonStar shares had shot up 14.69% to 0.18p.
