Noida Toll Bridge Company Ltd announced on Friday it has filed an appeal before the Supreme Court of India against the judgement of the High Court of Allahabad, in the case of the Federation of Noida Resident Welfare Associations vs NTBCL.

The AIM-traded firm was ruled against by the High Court on 26 October, in the case which challenged the validity of the Concession Agreement entered into between FONRWA and Noida Toll Bridge Company.

At the time, the High Court upheld the Concession Agreement, but held two specific provisions relating to levies and collection of fees to be inoperative and directed the company to stop collecting the user fee, making the bridge toll free.

“The appeal has been admitted today by the Honourable Supreme Court of India and an interim order is expected to be delivered after the Supreme Court resumes after the Diwali break,” Noida’s board said in a statement.
