NetScientific hails uptake of Wanda contract by US home care group

NetScientific said that its Wanda health management technology had been adopted by US-based HRS Home Health to help it monitor all the patients in its care.

Wanda, which is 61%-owned by NetScientific, will be incorporated into the care of all home health patients by HRS, Chicago's largest private home care provider, following a trial evaluation involving high-risk congestive heart failure patients.

HRS reported a 72% lower readmission rate for patients using Wanda, in addition to a high compliancy of 74%.

"We believe the data demonstrates Wanda's great technical capabilities, in addition to Wanda's ability to be integrated into clinician's workflow, both changing lives and reducing cost," said NetScientific chief executive Francois R. Martelet.

HRS was able to reduce readmissions to 4.5% and said Wanda enabled it "to deliver better care without increasing the workload for our clinicians", allowing staff to identify variances during care delivery so they could apply prevention and intervention techniques.

Shares in NetScientific rose 1% to 57.6p after the announcement on Friday.
