Gaming technology company Nektan has expanded into Africa using E-Lite, its business-to-business content distribution platform.

Nektan said Africa was an emerging, rapidly growing market, and just one of a number of regions that the group was targeting as part of its global expansion strategy.

Following a "quick and seamless integration" of Nektan's B2B platform E-Lite, two of Africa's leading gaming companies, Betika and BetLion, opted to complement their sports offering with the integration of hundreds of HTML5 developed slots and table games across all desktop and mobile devices.

The AIM-listed group also said its B2B division maintained "an extensive pipeline of partners" across multiple jurisdictions and emerging markets such as Africa.

Nektan's founder Gary Shaw said: "Africa is an emerging market that is rich with possibilities and presents us with opportunities to build our international expansion.

"As we continue to grow Nektan's B2B software division, deals such as this highlight how our proprietary technology is fit for purpose in emerging markets all over the world."

As of 0850 BST, Nektan shares had slipped 3.57% to 10.12p.
