Communications and radiofrequency technology group MTI Wireless Edge has secured multiple orders from an unnamed and existing customer for several naval projects.

MTI Wireless said on Thursday that the orders were valued at just over $1.0m and were for the supply of military antennas to an existing Israeli customer.

The AIM-listed group added that the majority of the orders would be supplied over the next 12 months.

Dov Feiner, the general manager of MTI's antenna division, said: "We have been waiting for these orders to mature for some time and, together with the order announced on 23 September 2019, we have increased our order book and continue to see interesting opportunities in the military antenna segment.

"We also continue to invest in the commercialisation of 5G backhaul solutions which we expect will drive sales growth as mobile phone operators roll out their 5G networks globally."

As of 0835 BST, MTI Wireless shares were up 1.86% at 31.78p.
