Mobile Streams pushing cryptocurrency through partnership with app marketplace

Mobile media firm Mobile Streams saw its shares leap more than 30% on Tuesday after it announced a new partnership with alternative Andriod app marketplace Aptiode.

The AIM traded company is understood to be exploring the possibility of utilising blockchain protocols through the AppCoin cryptocurrency to deliver users new purchasing possibilities and provide mobile game developers with new ways in which to monetise their core and additional content.

Simon Buckingham, chief executive of Mobile Streams, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Aptoide to cooperate with each other for the development and dissemination of the AppCoins cryptocurrency Protocol. We are very impressed with the product and strongly believe it will have a positive impact on our customers, especially in India and Argentina.”

Mobile Streams has been developing content for mobile platforms since 1999 and has launched mobile gaming stores in India and Latin America.

As of 0905 BST, Mobile Streams’ shares were up 36% at 2.04p.
