Malawi-focussed rare earths exploration and development company Mkango Resources announced on Wednesday that the Government of Malawi has granted a further two-year renewal to its flagship project.

The AIM-traded firm said the extension would run from 21 January next year to 21 January 2021, and was for exclusive prospecting licence 0284, also known as the Phalombe Licence, in the southeast of the country.

“Mkango's flagship project, the Songwe Hill Rare Earths Project is located in the Phalombe Licence,” the company’s board said in its short statement.
