AIM-listed Michelmersh Brick has won a contract to supply Battersea Power Station with 440,000 purpose-made, wire-cut bricks, which are being produced at its Blockleys plant in Shropshire.

The contract is in conjunction with Michelmersh's distribution partner EHSmith and the product was chosen to complement the existing contextual built environment of Battersea, matching the conservational standards of the original existing facades.

"Being chosen to deliver this order is testament to Michelmersh's ability to create a product that meets very particular requirements and match the existing, iconic Battersea Power Station brickwork," the company said.

At 0810 BST, the shares were down 0.3% to 73p.
