Marlowe buys employment law compliance specialist in £2.25m deal

Marlowe has bought employment law compliance specialist Cater Leydon Millard for an enterprise value of £2.25m.

Established in 2004 and based in Oxfordshire, Cater Leydon provides specialist employment law advice to companies across the UK. Marlowe said on Wednesday that the acquisition deepens its employment law compliance offering and will offer attractive synergies with Ellis Whittam, its platform in the provision of recurring, fixed-fee HR, employment law and safety services & software.

For the year ended 30 November 2020, the business generated an operating profit of £0.65m on revenues of £1.7m.

The total enterprise value comprises an upfront cash payment of £1.75m and a performance-related consideration in the region of £0.5m.

Marlowe specialises in business-critical services and software which assure safety and regulatory compliance.
