India-focussed online fashion business Koovs announced on Wednesday that it was named ‘Most Popular Fashion Portal Preferred by Youth’ at the annual Global Youth Marketing Forum in Mumbai.

The AIM-traded company said the Global Youth Marketing Forum and Awards, organised by CMO Asia, showcases and celebrates expertise and innovation in marketing, customer engagement and social media, specifically for the youth market.

It claimed the youth market in India remained one of the most attractive globally with the number of affluent young urbanites expected to reach 60 million in 2017, while the market for lifestyle fashion in India was expected to reach $30bn by 2020.

The Koovs.com portal focuses exclusively on western-style fashion for the rapidly expanding demographic.

“The Koovs customer is twenty-something, urban, aspirational, highly connected to global culture, extremely tech-savvy and avid for western style,” said Koovs CEO Mary Turner.

“Our aim is to provide a 360-degree young fashion lifestyle experience across mobile and desktop, engaging customers through all the marketing channels relevant to today's youth culture.

“We are extremely excited to win this award, recognising our work in building the Koovs brand and Koovs.com as a destination site for the youth market in India.”
