Kibo Mining noted Tanzinia-focused Katoro Gold's statement that development work on the Imweru gold project has officially begun.

"Operational teams were deployed to site over the past week and the first drill rig is expected to arrive on 1 June 2017," said Katoro.

"With the site and drill pad preparation already complete, drilling will commence immediately once the rig arrives on site," that company added.

Kibo owned about 57.1% of Katoro, following a spin-off earlier this month. Katoro holds the Imweru and Lubando gold projects in Tanzania.

At 13:21 BST, shares in Kibo were flat at 5.12p each.
