British clothing company Joules named Caroline York as its new chief financial officer on Wednesday.

York will join Joules from Moneysupermarket, where she currently serves as finance director, no later than September 2021.

Marc Dench, the AIM-listed group's outgoing CFO, will step down from his position on the board on 11 May but will remain available to Joules in a consultancy capacity to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities to York.

In the period between Dench standing down and York joining the board, Joules will appoint Jon Dargie, currently the group's finance controller, as interim CFO.

Chief executive Nick Jones said: "We are delighted that Caroline is going to be our next CFO and I am looking forward to working closely with her to deliver the next chapter of Joules' long-term growth and development.

"I have no doubt that Caroline's extensive understanding of digital and brand-led businesses will be of great value to Joules moving forward."

As of 0810 BST, Joules shares were up 0.70% at 215.0p.
