Inland Homes secures planning permission for 58 homes in Uxbridge

Brownfield housebuilder Inland Homes has secured planning permission to construct 58 homes in Middlesex.

The AIM-listed company has secured a resolution to grant planning permission at its site at the former Randalls department store in Uxbridge to develop 58 homes, including a conversion of part of a listed building into eight flats.

Inland will also construct of an additional storey onto the building to for six flats, while the ground floor, comprising 8,000 square feet, will be converted into a retail unit and the Old Fire Station building will be turned into three duplex flats.

The company stressed that it was sensitive to the former department store's history in Uxbridge and that the preservation of the architectural value of the street elevation is central to its plans for the site.

In addition, Inland has exchanged contracts for the sale of 28 affordable homes at Queensgate, Farnborough with a registered provider for £4.65m, of which £1.57m will be received in June for the land, and the balance will be transferred as construction progresses.

These homes are part of the final phase on the site, where the company has planning permission for 80 homes.

Chief executive Stephen Wicks said the company has now secured planning permissions or resolutions to grant planning permission for the construction of over 1,250 homes in the first quarter.

He added: “It has been a strong start to the year and we will be continuing to grow our activities against the supportive market backdrop."

Shares in Inland Homes were up 1.18% to 60.20p at 0921 BST.
