European-focused independent oil and gas exploration company Frontera Resources has announced today the extension of the company's natural gas transportation licence by the government of Georgia on 14 November 2017 until the same date in 2022.

Frontera said that the Ministry of Energy's State Agency of Oil and Gas had prolonged the licence in relation to the 14-km natural gas pipeline which the company built in 2014, which connects the company's natural gas processing facility at the Mtsarekhevi Gas Complex with Georgia's natural gas distribution grid.

The licence was issued on 16 April 2014 and was initially valid for two years, but was subsequently extended for a year through November 2017.

The company also announced that testing on the Ud-2 well at the Mtsarekhevi Gas Complex was in process, as previously announced.
