Analytics outfit GlobalData tapped Sally Johnson to take over from Graham Lilley as its chief financial officer on Thursday, following the latter's decision to step down from the group.

Johnson, currently deputy CFO of education group Pearson, will succeed Lilley at a date yet to be agreed within the first quarter of 2020.

Lilley will remain in his current role as a member of the board and chief financial officer until Johnson takes up the post in order to ensure an orderly transition.

Chief executive Mike Danson said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Graham for his important contribution to the business over the past eight years.

"We are looking forward to welcoming Sally to GlobalData. Her broad financial and leadership experience will be extremely valuable to us as we continue to grow GlobalData and take it into the next stage of development."

As of 1035 BST, GlobalData shares had dipped 1.20% to 820p.
