Gamma Communications reports strong growth across business

Gamma Communications reported its Cloud PBX services and SIP trunks grew ahead of market expectations during the first half of the year, alongside strong growth and significant wins at its other units.

In its unaudited results for the six months ended June 2017, the group said its installed base of SIP service trunks increased 18.4% to 605,000, and the number of Cloud PBX service users by 20% to 276,000.

Growth in data products was particularly strong with the number of business broadband connections increasing 20.4% to 65,000, and that of ethernet connections by 22.8% to 4,322 from 3,520.

Meanwhile, gross profits at the group's indirect business section clocked in with a rise of 10.9% to £41.7m from £37.6m as the number of channel partners grew 5.5% to 1,023.

Significant wins drove growth in the direct business with gross profit up 22.8% to £12.4m.

New customers for the company during the period included Itsu, Savills and Care UK, with key wins in the public sector comprised of Macmillan Cancer Support, Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

In terms of new product development, the company launched a Cloud Compute and Backup service, an extension of the Horizon Cloud PBX service and said that they remained on target for the launch of their fixed, mobile converged product later on this year.
