Frontier Developments said on Friday that its games label Frontier Foundry has announced the new game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, in partnership with Warhammer 40,000 creator Games Workshop.

The AIM-traded firm said the game, developed by Complex Games in Canada, would pitch “humanity's greatest weapon, the Grey Knights”, against the “corrupting forces of Chaos” in a “brutal and fast-paced”, turn-based tactical role-playing game.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters will release on PC in 2022 via the Steam and Epic Games storefronts, published by Frontier Foundry.

The new title would build on Frontier's existing partnership with Games Workshop, with the company having previously announced the internally-developed Warhammer Age of Sigmar real-time strategy title, which was currently in development for a scheduled release date in the year ending 31 May 2023.

“For the financial year ending 31 May 2022, Frontier Foundry is targeting to release at least three new titles including Warhammer: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, and the previously-announced strategic shooter Lemnis Gate, which comes to multiple platforms this summer,” the Frontier board said in its statement.

Frontier said it would provide a trading update on the recently-completed 2021 financial year on 11 June.

At 0848 BST, shares in Frontier Developments were up 3.23% at 2,555p.
