Virtual reality entertainment content creator EVR Holdings announced a name change on Friday, to MelodyVR Group.

The AIM-traded firm’s main operation was already dubbed the ‘MelodyVR platform’.

It said the new 'MVR' ticker had commenced trading, with effect from Friday morning.

“The change of name from EVR Holdings to MelodyVR Group is an important development for the company,” said executive chairman and chief executive officer Anthony Matchett.

“For a number of years, our principal subsidiary has been the core focus of our business and activities, be it the development of proprietary hardware and software, or the creation of original and exclusive content featuring the world's most prominent artists and musicians.

“Our team's determined focus to build a scalable consumer platform and a revolutionary entertainment business has yielded numerous successes to date, but as we continue to develop and in anticipation of welcoming even more consumers to the MelodyVR platform throughout 2020 and beyond, it is now appropriate for our parent company to also bear the MelodyVR name.”

At 1343 BST, shares in MelodyVR Group were down 0.34% at 4.73p.
