Marketing software provider Dotdigital Group ended its financial year exactly where analysts projected it, growing its revenue 19% over the twelve months leading to 30 June after a solid performance outside of the UK.

Dotdigital brought revenue up to £32m from the £26.9m it posted the previous year, 23% of which came from international business as the Croydon-based firm increased revenues coming from abroad by 48% throughout 2017.

Pre-tax profits rose 30%, which was ahead of market expectations, to £8.1m as EBITDA gained 26% to £10.1m, feeding through to a 32% leap in earnings per share to 2.42p.

The firm said its new financial year had started strong as it had witnessed further acceleration in international sales, leaving the board confident that it would be able to meet its rather lofty growth targets.

Milan Patel, Dotdigital's chief executive, said that second-quarter sales had "accelerated to bring substantial and commendable growth across all regions," adding that the "first few months of the new financial year have started well and in line with plan."

"There has been an increase in the customer numbers that are being added across all regions to the platform compared to the previous year. The market outlook remains strong which puts us in a good position to capitalise on our strategy and the board remains confident about achieving our ambitious growth plans," said Patel.

As of 0955 BST, shares were up 7.19% to 78.25p.
