Luxury interior furnishings group Walker Greenbank announced the appointment of David Butcher as general manager of brands on Monday.

The AIM-traded firm said in the role, Butcher would be responsible for delivering the UK and international growth objectives of the company's brands.

It said Butcher was bringing more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and general management at “major companies” focused on brand-based products including Procter & Gamble, Allied Domecq, Constellation Brands and Britvic.

Most recently, he was managing director for UK & Ireland of Carabao Energy Drinks, where he delivered “significant” sales growth for the Carabao brand.

The role of general manager of brands was a non-board position that replaced the former role of brands director, the board explained.

In the new role, Butcher - who would join the company this week - would report directly to chief executive John Sach.

“I'm delighted to welcome David Butcher to Walker Greenbank,” John Sach said.

“David has an excellent track record in sales and marketing at brand-based businesses and is an experienced general manager.

“I look forward to working with him to deliver the company's UK and international growth objectives.”
