Technology commercialisation company Crossword Cybersecurity has signed an agreement with Kinnerton Confectionery, it announced on Monday, for the use of its secure third-party assurance platform, ‘Rizikon Assurance’.

The AIM-traded firm described Kinnerton Confectionery as Britain's largest independent manufacturer of chocolate and novelty confectionery, specialising in character merchandising. Since being founded in 1978, it had grown to service a range of clients, and was one of a handful of UK confectionery manufacturers able to offer 'nut safe' chocolate.

“Rizikon Assurance is a secure, encrypted portal used by organisations to assure their third parties and suppliers,” Crossword’s board explained in its statement.

“It contains standard questionnaires on subjects such as cyber security, GDPR, supplier on-boarding, modern slavery and anti-bribery and corruption, and also supports the customer's own question sets and scoring approaches.

“It improves the scalability, security and auditability of third party assurance and due diligence via automation, centralisation and encryption.”

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
