Conroy Gold & Natural Resources faces call for board shake-up

Conroy Gold & Natural Resources' shares rose more than 10% after it received a requisition for a general meeting to shake-up its board by removing its chairman, finance director and several non-executive directors.

The requisition sought the meeting to remove non-executive chairman Seamus FitzPatrick, finance director James Jones, plus non-executive directors Sorca Conroy, Louis Maguire, Michael Power and David Wathen.

It also sought to appoint Patrick O'Sullivan, Paul Johnson and Gervaise Heddle as new directors.

The gold exploration and development company focused on Ireland and Finland said it was taking advice in relation to the request.

At 11:02 BST, shares in Conroy Gold & Natural Resources were up 12.73% to 15.5p each.
