Podcast producer Audioboom's chief executive Rob Proctor has stood down from the position and as a director of the company, with immediate effect.

Audioboom said on Monday that chief operating officer Stuart Last had been appointed to the role of interim chief executive as the board commenced its search for a more permanent replacement.

Chairman Michael Tobin said: "Rob has taken Audioboom from a pre-revenue start-up to one of the world's top audio platforms.

"He leaves behind a company in the best shape it has ever been and at the forefront of the burgeoning podcast industry."

The AIM-listed group added that it was continuing to perform well and added that it would be providing a third-quarter trading update on 7 October.

As of 1350 BST, Audioboom shares had picked up 1.34% to 179.88p.
