Telecommunications software and solutions provider Artilium announced the opening of a new office in Germany on Wednesday.

The AIM-traded firm said the office, based in Bocholt, North Rhine-Westphalia, would enable it to further expand into the “significant and growing” German market, where sales would be achieved exclusively through IT resellers and systems integrators to business customers.

It said the product portfolio offered would include managed cloud services, SIP trunking, hosted PBX, integrated fixed and mobile communications, unified communications and Skype for business integration.

The business would also be able to provide IVR and multi-channel contact centre solutions through Artilium’s ‘Livecom’ operation, as well as billing and invoicing from the company's “market-leading” ‘ARTA’ platform.

At the same time, Artilium announced the appointment of Ron Miedema as managing director of Artilium GmbH with responsibility for all business operations in Germany, effective immediately.

Miedema previously held senior positions such as business development director and senior manager of new business with Voiceworks, which Artilium described as a “fast-growing” VoIP and web technology specialist.

It said he would bring “considerable” telecoms and telephony industry knowledge and sales experience to Artilium GmbH, which it believed would be “instrumental” as the company expanded further into the high-growth German market.

“The opening of the German office will enable us to execute our strategy of international expansion notably, in the high-growth European markets,” said Artilium CEO Bart Weijermars.

“We are extremely excited about expanding into the German market.”

Weijermars said the company’s “extensive” product portfolio was ideal for IT resellers and systems integrators, and it was “confident” the company would be able to capitalise on the opportunities available.

“We are also delighted that Ron Miedema has joined the team; his experience and knowledge will be invaluable as we grow the business in Germany.”
