Shares in Alba Mineral Resources gained more than 6% on news it is able to undertake detailed preparations for the field programme in Amitsoq in southern Greenland.

This was seen taking place over June and July, and followed completion of the consultation phase with the Mineral and Licensing Safety Authority (MLSA) of Greenland.

"This forthcoming field programme is designed to verify the priority graphite target zones identified in last year's extensive electromagnetic (EM) survey over the licence area, which delineated more than 12 km of strike length," the company said.

"In addition, the programme will target known gold, platinum group element (PGE), nickel and copper anomalisms within the licence which have been identified during an extensive historic data capture exercise undertaken by Alba's technical team involving a review of all historical exploration data available for the licence area," it added.

At 13:07 BST, shares in AIM-listed Alba were up 6.52% to 0.24p each.
