Global Aviation services group, Air Partner announced on Friday that it had made a strong start to the year with an expected underlying pre-tax profit for the first half of trading that would see it take-off by at least 25% higher than at the same time of last year.

Ahead of its interim results on 28 September, Air Partner reported to investors via a trading statement that the group's pre-tax profit would not be less than £4m for the first six months of the year, £1m more than what it posted at the same time of 2016.

The firm's broking division, which comprises aircraft charter and remarketing wings, had "performed well across all product lines during the first half," helping Air Partner maintain a strong net cash position.

Pleased with the first half of the year, the Board said it "remains comfortable" with its guidance for the full-year.

As of 1230 BST, shares had moved ahead 3.03% to 136.00p.
