21st Century Tech wins £0.4m public transport operator contract

Transport solutions specialist 21st Century Tech announced a contract worth £0.4m to supply high definition on board visual systems to a major public transport operator on Friday.

The contract will represent a considerable upgrade for the transport operator and is anticipated to include engineering and technical services relating to the purchase which could bring the total value of the contract to £0.6m.

Russ Singleton, chief executive of 21st Century Tech, said: "I am delighted this world-class, multi-modal operator has chosen us to provide the next generation on-board IT and vision systems as they commence a major technology upgrade to their fleets. We have placed a dedicated engineering team locally, supported by our nationwide customer services, R&D and software developers who are all committed to providing first-class customer service experience."

21st Century Tech provides services including CCTV video surveillance, vehicle & driver performance monitoring, real-time on-board IT subsystems management and automatic passenger counting as part of its fleet systems operations as well as electronic passenger information systems, off-vehicle smart ticketing and way-finding.

"Whether on bus, coach or trains or the associated passenger information systems in the towns & cities, we have the resources and capabilities to deliver a fast, efficient and high-quality service," said Singleton.

As of 1434 GMT, 21st Century Tech’s shares were up 10% at 2.75p.
