AGM Statement

James Saralis, Chief Financial Officer of NAHL (AIM: NAH), a leader in the UK consumer legal services market, will make the following statement at the Group's Annual General Meeting ("AGM" or "Meeting") to be held today at 10.00 a.m.:

"Since the publication of the 2020 full year results on 25 May 2021, the Group has continued to make good progress on its strategy. In Consumer Legal Services, following the implementation of the Government's Personal Injury (PI) reforms on 31 May, the Group's PI business successfully launched its small claims proposition on schedule and to plan. The Group's wholly-owned law firm, National Accident Law's (NAL), interface with the small claims portal is working well and the Group has already arranged medicals for clients and has secured several liability admissions from insurers with settlements expected to follow. Management are pleased with the initial results and claims continue to progress well through the system, with additional work planned to optimise processes. Pleasingly, since implementation of the reforms, 100% of the Group's Road Traffic Accident (RTA) enquiries have been processed in NAL and the business is preparing for an increase in the number of Non-RTA claims being processed in NAL in the second half of the year.

"In the Group's Critical Care division, Bush & Co continues to make good progress on its strategic initiatives which are driving improved efficiencies across its case management and expert witness processes, and should provide access to adjacent markets.

"Lead volumes continue to grow month on month across the Group's PI business and in expert witness services in Critical Care.  This is consistent with the gradual re-opening of the economy, albeit at a slightly reduced rate than initially anticipated because of the continued delays in lifting COVID restrictions.  Within case management services, leads remain subdued due to reduced accident numbers in Q1.  This was expected and the Board anticipates that the increase in UK activity levels experienced in Q2 will feed into increased leads for case management later in the year.

"Since the announcement of the Group's intention to investigate a potential sale of its repositioned and profitable Residential Property business, the Board has been pleased with the level of interest received from interested parties, and will provide an update on this process later in the year.

"The Group has continued to generate free cash flows, with net debt as at 31 May 2021 reducing to £16.0m (31 December 2020: £16.3m).  The Board anticipates further reductions in net debt later in the year.

"The Group will provide a trading update for the six months to 30 June 2021 on 20 July 2021."

As previously announced, in accordance with Government guidelines and in order to safeguard the wellbeing and health of shareholders and employees, only two shareholders, who are also Directors, will be physically present at the AGM.

Details of the outcome of voting on the resolutions to be proposed at the AGM will be published via RNS later today, as well as being made available on the Company's website.
