Sir Brian Stewart to retire as Chairman at 2018 AGM

C&C Group plc (“C&C”) announces that Sir Brian Stewart, after eight years in the role, will retire from the Board at the conclusion of C&C's Annual General Meeting on 5 July 2018.

Following a thorough selection process, Stewart Gilliland, who joined the Board as a non-executive director in 2012, has agreed to succeed Sir Brian as Chairman. He has extensive experience of the Drinks Industry and has been a non-executive Director of C&C since April 2012. He was Chairman of Booker Group plc from 2015 until its acquisition by Tesco plc in March 2018, following which, he was appointed to the Board of Tesco plc as a non-executive Director. He is also Senior Independent Director of Mitchells & Butlers plc.
