Board Change and Update on Chairman Recruitment

Synectics plc (AIM: SNX), a leader in the design, integration and support of advanced security and surveillance systems, makes the following announcement in relation to the composition of its board of directors (the "Board").

Michael Butler, independent non-executive director, has informed the Company that he will be leaving the Board with effect from the end of the Company's current financial year on 30 November 2022. Mr Butler has been a member of the Board since February 2016. He is also chairman of the Board's remuneration committee and Senior Independent Director.

Following Mr Butler's departure, Andrew Lockwood, independent non-executive director, will assume the chairmanship of the remuneration committee.

On 22 June 2022, the Company announced that David Coghlan, Chairman, intended to retire from the Board once a new chairman-designate had been recruited and a suitable transition and handover period had been completed. The recruitment process has proceeded positively and it is anticipated that the appointment of Mr Coghlan's successor will be announced shortly.

David Coghlan, Chairman of Synectics, commented: "I would like to thank Michael most sincerely for his service to Synectics over the past nearly seven years. We will miss his business acumen, insightful contributions to the Board's deliberations and unfailing good humour."
