Appointment of new Sales and Marketing Director

Yü Group PLC (AIM: YU.), the independent supplier of gas, electricity and water to the UK corporate sector, is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Smith as the new Group Sales and Marketing Director, reporting to the Board of Directors.

Simon will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the sales and marketing functions at Yü Group. Simon has a strong track record of delivering sales growth through innovative solutions across a range of industries including energy, telecoms, procurement and IT. He is a proven leader, with a passion for creating a high-performance culture amongst his teams, enabling over-achievement against targets in what are naturally competitive markets.

Most recently, Simon has been running his own company, providing software as a service along with consultancy and analytics solutions to improve business procurement practices. Prior to that, Simon was the Commercial Director of Utilyx Ltd (now part of Mitie PLC), a supplier of energy procurement and price risk management services to the corporate sector.

Simon's appointment coincides with ongoing investment being made by the Group across its sales activities.  The Group is currently expanding in a new sales office in Leicester, is investing in technology to further automate processes, and continues to develop new products and services that complement its offering.
