LONDON (SHARECAST) - Beleaguered software group iSoft said today that following its initial investigation into possible accounting irregularities the Financial Services Authority will now be undertaking a formal investigation.

On 8 August, the group announced that it had completed an initial investigation into possible accounting irregularities.

It has now concluded that there is evidence of irregularities affecting the financial years ended 30 April 2004 and 2005 and that there are grounds for a more formal investigation.

The FSA will now start that formal investigation having been passed the findings of iSoft’s own inquiry.
