Avanti expects to exceed expectations |

LONDON (SHARECAST) - Satellite operator Avanti Communications says that it is set to comfortably exceed its pre-sales target of 25% of capacity of the HYLAS 1 satellite.
HYLAS 1 will be delivered in July and should be ready for launch on a Soyuz rocket in August. This means that it should be in operation in September.
An unnamed eastern European customer has signed up for 320Mb of capacity on HYLAS 1. Over an initial five year term the contract should be worth €21.9m. The same customer has signed options on further capacity on HYLAS 1 and HYLAS 2.
Avanti says that it is also near to negotiating a number of pre-sales contracts for HYLAS 2.
