LONDON (SHARECAST) - John Kingman, the chief executive of UK Financial Instruments has landed the plum role of managing director at top merchant bank NM Rothschild.
Kingman announced in July he would step down from UKFI, which runs the government stakes in Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking and Northern Rock. Robin Budenberg from UBS was recently named as his replacement.
Kingman is expected to earn considerably more at Rothschild than the £143,000 per year he received at the UKFI, but the details of his pay package were not revealed.
Rothschild did tell reporters that Kingman would be involved in a "broad role" that will include UK and overseas clients, some financial services work abroad and some restructuring.
