LONDON (SHARECAST) - Irish low-cost carrier Aer Lingus will reduce fuel surcharges on long haul flights by up to 20% with immediate effect due to lower crude prices.
The group said it will cut its long haul fuel surcharges by up to 20% on all tickets booked for flights between Ireland and the US.
"The fuel surcharge reduction represents a decrease of up to €20/US$40 per sector and comes as a result of the recent decrease in international oil prices," said the group.
Dermot Mannion, Aer Lingus chief executive, said, “This is good news for Aer Lingus customers. We have consistently reassured customers that the fuel surcharge would be kept under active review as part of Aer Lingus' continued commitment to its low fares strategy. We are pleased to honour that commitment now that oil prices have fallen.”
