LONDON (SHARECAST) - Directors at Cairn Energy bought into the oil and gas company en masse today, spending a combined total of about £480,000 on shares.
Exploration director Mike Watts bought 10,000 shares at just over 1,816p each and now has about 183,000 shares in the Edinburgh-based company.
Chief operating officer Malcolm Thoms took 5,500 shares at the same price and now has 48,000, while chief executive Sir Bill Gammell lifted his stake to 416,000 with the purchase of 5,000 shares.
Four other directors took stakes ranging from 1,300 to 2,000 shares.
Cairn reported first half results in August, with sharply higher crude prices boosting operating profits even though output at the India-focused group fell.
