LONDON (SHARECAST) - Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline, has now formally signed a contract with Finnair to fly 12 Embraer E190 regional jets on its behalf.
The deal was first announced on May 22nd 2012 and will finally come into force on October 28th, with the Flybe Nordic joint venture between Flybe and Finnair operating a number of popular short haul routes under Finnair livery but with Flybe Finland staff.
"With this deal, 25% of the fleet under Flybe Group's management will be deployed under contract flying arrangements. We believe there are many more similar opportunities to develop this side of the business," said Jim French, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Flybe Group.
The group added that trading in the third quarter has been in line with lowered management expectations as outlined on August 10th.
