TechMARK movers: Tadpole plunges |

LONDON (SHARECAST) - Tadpole Technology was today's worst performer, having lost a third of its value. The group said it is evaluating alternative options to its current funding plans as it has not received the necessary commitments from potential placees due to unfavourable market conditions.
Operating results for the three months to 31 December were broadly in line with expectations. Revenues were significantly higher due to increased licensing fees, but the operating loss was only slightly lower than last year due to a 43% rise in operating expenses.
Acambis advanced on news that the US Department of Defense will switch to the pharmaceutical firm’s ACAM2000 as its only smallpox vaccine.
The Department of Defense has been using Wyeth Pharmaceuticals’ Dryvax for its smallpox vaccinations. Dryvax will continue to be used until 29 February after which ACAM2000 will be the sole vaccine.
Doses of ACAM2000 are being supplied to the Department of Defense by the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through the Strategic National Stockpile.
